The FCS stands for the Football Championship Subdivision. Prior to December 2006, it was known as Division I-AA Football Championship. The FCS is the highest level of NCAA collegiate football to determine its national champion through a playoff system. In contrast, Division I FCS football conducts a 20-team single-elimination tournament, the NCAA Division I Football Championship, to determine its undisputed champion. Read the rest of this entry »
